Scotland and Wales are also being backed to make it out of their groups, though they face tough clashes against Belgium and Croatia respectively, but things are harder for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.The latter, who recently named Mick McCarthy as their new manager, will have to contend with Switzerland and Denmark in Group D, while Northern Ireland have been drawn in the devilishly tricky Group C alongside Germany, the Netherlands, Estonia and Belarus.The top two teams in each group qualify for the Euro 2020 finals, which is being held in 12 countries across the continent.Scotland and England are guaranteed a play-off place if they fail to qualify automatically, with four extra places available through the Nations League play-offs.
