Madley took charge of 91 games in the English top-flight and was the man in the middle in last year’s Community Shield between Arsenal and Chelsea.Mystery surrounded his abrupt exit from theProfessional Game Match Officials (PGMOL) thebodyresponsible formatch officials in England – before it emerged that he had been axed for making cruel comments on Snapchat.According to The Sun, Madley shared a picture of a disabled man with an insensitive remark about the probability of being able to beat him in a school sports day race.Madley, from West Yorkshire, relocated to Norway soon after and is now looking to make his mark as an official in the Scandinavian country. In order to referee in the top-flight, he must first officiate in the lower leagues and will be assessed before a decision is made on whether he can take charge ofEliteseria games. He has been assigned to sixth-tier club Abildso – with all referees in Norway having to be associated with a team.Speaking to NRK TV station recently, Madley said: “I would love to take charge in Eliteseria at some point, but I have to work hard and prove my trust first. It’s just fair.“Just because I refereed in the Premier League does not make me better than any other referee in Norway and it gives me no right to got to the top level.”
