The club are intent on providing a long-term strategy in the transfer market, which works in tandem with a new manager.Ed Woodward, the club’s executive vice-chairman, is looking at a number of candidates but the Sun claim Mitchell is his top target to fill the position.Mitchell, 37, moved to the Red Bull Arena a little over a year ago, having served a 16-month notice period following his exit from Tottenham – where he worked as head of recruitment.However, the German side are desperate to keep hold of their man and are prepared to offer Mitchell a lucrative new deal to fend off Uniteds advances.2
