The funds raised on the night benefited the Willow Foundation, a charity established by Arsenal legend Bob Wilson which works with seriously ill young adults between the ages of 16 and 40.Pochettino added: “It is a great honour for me, of course.“Always an award means a lot for everyone and I want to say thank you to the foundation and of course for these London awards.” Son was chosen ahead of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend and his team mate Harry Kane to land the player of the year award.“It means a lot,” said Son.“Without team mates, I can’t win such a trophy.“For me it is very special, and I want to say thank you to my team mates, the coaching staff and the gaffer.”
